Course Description
This class explores the book of Acts and the letters of Paul side by side, helping you read the New Testament as one unfolding story rather than a collection of disconnected passages. By tracing Paul’s ministry through Acts and then reading his letters in their original historical situations, we’ll see how theology, mission, and real-life church issues all intersect. Along the way, the class will equip you with practical tools for studying Scripture more confidently and faithfully on your own.
Course Goals
By the end of this class, you should be better equipped to:
- Read the New Testament as one unified story, rather than as a collection of isolated passages.
- Read and interpret Paul’s letters with greater confidence by understanding them as real, situational letters written to real churches facing real problems.
- Practice sound Bible study habits by paying attention to both the literary context (what surrounds a passage) and the cultural/historical context (what was happening at the time), leading to a more accurate and faithful understanding of Scripture.
