Let's be honest with each other: most of us have never actually read two-thirds of our Bible. Maybe you made it through Genesis. Maybe you've done the Psalms a few at a time. But somewhere around the tabernacle measurements in Exodus, a lot of us quietly closed the book and drifted back over to the Gospels, where things make sense. Right? And it's not that we don't want to read it — it's that we open it up and hit kings we can't pronounce, prophets yelling at nations that don't exist anymore, and laws about mildew. We don't know where we are in the story, so we don't know what any of it means, so we feel a little dumb, so we stop. That's not a spiritual failure. That's a map problem.

So we made you a map. Broken Crowns is a six-week survey — not a deep dive, not a seminary class, not a reading plan that leaves you feeling behind by week three. We'll walk the Old Testament in order, from creation through the collapse of Jerusalem, so you can finally see how the pieces fit: where Abraham sits, why the kingdom split, who the prophets were actually talking to and why they were so upset.

Here's what we're really after: this is the book Jesus read, the book He quoted, the story He said was about Him. Getting familiar with it isn't homework — it's getting to know Him better, and watching Him show up on pages you didn't know He was on. Whether you've walked with Jesus for forty years or you're still figuring out where Leviticus is, come find out where you are in the story.
