Rejoicing in the Lord

Our society is tuned towards the unhappy and the bad. We dwell on the negative and then fight it with the positive.

Zoochosis - The process by which an animal in captivity begins to do abnormal, repetitive, or self-destructive behavior.

The Psalms of praise show us what it looks like to praise God regardless of circumstances, whether good or bad.

Psalm 96 - To Sing a new song to the Lord and rejoice.

We are called to use our own creativity and imagination along with our voice to praise the Lord.

Declare the goodness of the Lord to all peoples, to Him and to yourself.

Psalm 150 - The Psalms culminate in a command to Praise the Lord.

Hebrews 13:15 -Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.

Lets us praise the Lord as our sacrifice to him, a pleasing offering.

Application: Take time this week to praise the Lord with your own words, whether reading a poem or singing off the cuff.
