A Legacy of Generosity
Jack and Pat McAskill left a legacy of generosity that has impacted us at Creekside and continues to impact area students today. We invite you to become part of that legacy.
Jack McAskill was the pastor of Graceway Baptist church in Kiowa for many years. He and his wife Pat made the sacrificial decision to donate their income from Graceway back to the church in the form of paying down the building.
When Graceway closed its doors, the remaining members gifted their building to Creekside to be used for ministry. After several years of using the building as a meeting place for one of our Connection Groups , the Board members at Creekside came to the conclusion that the best use of the building would be to sell it and use the proceeds to pay off the outstanding debt of Creekside's mortgage.
The building sold in 2022. The proceeds were used to pay off the remaining balance on Creekside's building, making us a debt-free church! Plus, there was still a little left-over.
In light of Jack and Pat's love for education and commitment to our community, we decided to use the remaining surplus to begin the Jack and Pat McAskill Scholarship Fund. This fund is designed to help Christian youth in the Elizabeth and Kiowa area pay for college.
